COMPOSITION:
Each Film Coated Tablet contains :
Glucosamine Sulfate 500 mg
Chondroitin sulfate 400 mg
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) 400 mg
Pharmacodynamic properties and mechanism of action:
Glucosamine: is an amino sugar and a precursor in the biochemical synthesis of glycosylated proteins and lipids. Glucosamine is part of the structure of the polysaccharides chitosan and chitin, which compose the exoskeletons of crustaceans
Oral glucosamine is marketed as a treatment of osteoarthritis.
It may take weeks to months before improvements in symptoms are noticed when taking glucosamine.
Since glucosamine is a precursor for glycosaminoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans are a major component of joint cartilage, supplemental glucosamine may help to prevent cartilage degeneration and treat arthritis.
Chondroitin sulfate:
Is a large molecule that is difficult absorbed more recent studies demonstrate that there is probably significant absorption of low-molecular weight Chondroitin sulfate.Absorption appears to occur from the stomach and small intestine Exogenous Chondroitin sulfate is absorbed also as derivative resulting from a partial depolymerization and /or desulfation
Methylsulfonylmethane:
It also is used for treating chronic pain, joint inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle cramps, and many other conditions.
Uses:
Drugs Interactions:
Adults: Take 3 tablets daily, with a meal.
Use for minimum 4 weeks to see beneficial effects.Since glucosamine reduces pain by repairing cartilages, it is important to use it continuously for one month to maximally reduce joint pain.
