COMPOSITION:

Each tablet contains: 500 mg Glucosamine sulfate 2KCl

400 mg Chondroitin sulfate sodium .

MECHANISM OF ACTION and PRODUCT PROPERTIES :

Glucosamine is an endogenous mucopolysacchride used in the synthesis of cartilage. Exogenous administration of glucosamine increases the “building blocks” available for cartilage production. Because sulfur is essential for glucosaminoglycan bonds within cartilage , the sulfate salt from may also provide important activity .In addition , Glucosamine stimulates chondrocyte cartilage production as well as synoviocyte synovial fluid production.Glucosamine sulfate has been shown to have unique anti-inflammatory effects and may inhibit the breakdown of cartilage associated with osteoarthritis. Studies suggest that it helps relieve pain by enhancing proteoglycan synthesis, which is impaired in osteoarthritic cartilage.

Chondroitin is commonly known as a product that decreases cartilage break down. It inhibits cartilage destroying enzyme.

USES:

ARTRAL PLUS is used in the following conditions .

• Osteoarthritis, also called degenerative joint disease, is the most common type of arthritis. When cartilage becomes worn exposed bones can rub together and the painful symptoms of osteoarthritis may appear. It is associated with a breakdown of cartilage in joints and commonly occurs in the hips,knees and vertebral column. It often affects the finger joints, the joint at the base of the thumb, and the joint at the base of the big to.
• Pain associated with osteoarthritis.
• Degenerative joint disease.

DOSAGE &ADMINISTRATION:

One tablet in the morning and one in the evening.
